PoLNET Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity Policy

At PoLNET, we are committed to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) across our membership and activities. We believe that a more diverse Physics of Life community reflects the full breadth of talent, unlocking innovative ideas, fostering collaborations, and driving impactful discoveries.

By creating equitable and inclusive environments, we strive to build a thriving and sustainable scientific community that benefits both current and future generations. Our unwavering dedication to anti-racism, alongside the fairness, objectivity, and transparency of our funding decisions, ensures we support the best people and ideas, regardless of background or circumstance.

In 2025, PoLNET secured EDI funding through 2025 under the BBSRC’s 'Enhancing Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in BBSRC-Funded Networks' initiative alongside the BioImaging network. This achievement demonstrates our continued commitment to fostering EDI across our community. Through this work, we aimed to help build a more inclusive research environment, enriched by a wide range of perspectives, skills, and expertise.
