The British Biophysical Society (BBS), a vibrant community of biophysicists, biologists and chemists, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2020. This year, the BBS Biennial Meeting will be held in Wales for the first time, organized by Sophie Shermer at Swansea University. The meeting will feature outstanding speakers from across the biophysical domain. By bringing excellent biophysical research to Wales, we hope to increase the participation of Wales-based researchers in Biophysics, and to enhance international collaboration.
Physics of Life involvement
The Physics of Life are providing sponsorship towards this conference and will deliver a Physics of Life Roadmap roadmap session on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 9:00-12:00 to collect data, information and input from the community on the themes of the Physics of Life roadmap.
Keynote speakers
Kate Adamala, University of Minnesota, 'Life but not alive: biophysics of synthetic cells'
Ulrich Keyser,Cambridge University 'Transport processes through membranes for biosensing applications'
Michelle Peckham, University of Leeds, Ready for work? Motor regulation and stepping behaviour
Daniel Raleigh, UCL, The biophysics and cell biology of protein misfolding diseases
